Horizontal construction engineers use bulldozers, cranes, graders and other heavy equipment to move tons of earth and material to complete construction projects for the Army.

They are also responsible for operating tractors with dozer attachments, scoop loaders, backhoe loaders, hydraulic excavators, motorized graders and scrapers
Job Duties:
  • Analyze the information on grade stakes and placing them
  • Drive bulldozers, roadgraders and other heavy equipment to level earth
  • Clear, grub, strip, excavate, backfill, stockpile and push scraper with tractor crawler
  • Cut and spread fill material with scraper
  • Transport heavy construction equipment with tractor-trailer
  • Assist in performance of combat engineer missions
Training:
  • Job training for horizontal construction engineer requires 10 weeks of Basic Combat Training and nine weeks of Advanced Individual Training.
  • Part of this time is spent in the classroom and part in the field with on-the-job instructions.

A visual information equipment operator-maintainer is responsible for filming, script editing and recording military operations and news events that support Army operations.
JOB DUTIES:
  • Handle television receivers/monitors, cameras and various studio accessories.
  • Operate motion/still photo imaging equipment and closed-circuit systems.
  • Control visual imagery satellites, microwaves, Radio Frequency transmissions, and cable distribution systems.

TRAINING:
Job training for a visual information equipment operator-maintainer requires 10 weeks of Basic Combat Training and 18 weeks of Advanced Individual Training with on-the-job instruction. Part of this time is spent in the classroom and in the field.

Job Description

The most important thing when firing field artillery is knowing where to shoot. The Field Artillery Firefinder Radar Operator figures out where the enemy is and communicates the target’s location to his or her unit.

"Firefinder" is the name given to highly specialized radar that detects mortars, planes, and other objects by using radio or sound waves to determine their location. The Field Artillery Firefinder Radar Operator operates specialized equipment designed to acquire various targets, such as enemy mortar positions and aircraft, to alert defensive units.

Job Duties
  • Establish and maintain radio and wire communications
  • Construct bunkers and similar areas for other field artillery
  • Maintain Firefinder radar with scheduled checkups

  • Calculating/recording speed, direction, and altitude

You Will:
  • Perform required inspection of Broom Sweeper, Pre-trip and Post-trip.
  • Review scheduled routes assigned, be proactive in asking questions if route is unclear.
  • Perform the safe operation of a Broom Sweeper.
  • Complete assigned job(s) in the time allotted while maintaining quality of work.
  • Exercise extra caution during inclement weather.
  • Report any equipment failures, near misses or accidents to Lead or Supervisor within 8 hours.
  • Over-night travel may be required.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:
  • Requires work performed in outdoor environments/ Exposure to variable and adverse weather conditions.
  • Exposure to noise, vibrations, jarring, fumes grease oil & chemicals.

Preferred Requirements: Preferred experience in manufacturing/machine operation specifically in the dairy/food industry.
