SUMMARY:
Central NJ based construction equipment distributor seeks a Heavy Equipment Mechanic. This person will be responsible for performing repairs and maintenance on all makes and models of heavy equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Core duties and responsibilities, among others, include the following:

  • Perform repairs and maintenance on all makes and models of heavy equipment and company vehicles (including but not limited too – excavators, bulldozers, loaders, backhoes, trucks, etc.);
  • Trouble shoot all issues and malfunctions with machinery;
  • Clean and maintain all equipment, machinery, tools and the general shop area.
  • Perform visual inspections on machines and report conditions/deficiencies.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES:

  • Minimum of three years of heavy equipment mechanic experience;
  • Working knowledge of heavy equipment preferred;
  • Knowledge of diagnostic equipment and software;
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload and projects; and
  • Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with a constant commitment to teamwork and exemplary customer service.

Functional Purpose

brushes, buffers, and other attachments on machines; uses wax, polish, and other protective agents appropriate for the

various surfaces; washes walls and ceilings from scaffolding.

4. Performs general laboring duties such as uncrating and assembling furniture and fixtures using bolts and screws for

assembly, loading and unloading supplies and equipment.

5. Performs janitorial duties such as cleaning, scrubbing, waxing, and polishing floors; washes walls and ceiling; dusts

furniture and fixtures; cleans hardware and toilet fixtures; washes windows; cares for lawns and shrubs; cleans sidewalks and

driveways and removes ashes, snow and ice.

6. In addition, may: operate elevator, stack supplies in storage rooms and on shelves; move furniture and equipment.

Supervisor of unit to which assigned.

Position Overview:

The Calibration Technician will work closely with the Manager of Facilities Engineering and Maintenance. The Calibration Technician performs and/or coordinates routine and non-routine instrument calibrations to maintain the calibration schedule in support of cGMP manufacturing. The incumbent will be highly organized, a master of prioritization and able to shift gears at a moments notice.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Test and calibrate measuring and test instruments for conformance to Standard Operating Procedures
  • Set up test equipment, collect measurements used to record various parameters (voltage, current, heat, flow, pressure, etc.)
  • Adjust/repair instruments to meet calibration tolerances
  • Coordinate instrument calibration and re-certification with outside standards laboratories, which includes inspections and documentation reviews on those instruments
  • Complete required documentation for calibration and certification activities
  • Adhere to Good Documentation Practices
  • Serve as a technical resource on calibration issues
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associates Degree preferred
  • Minimum 1-year calibration or operator experience in the pharmaceutical industry with proven problem-solving skills or commensurate education
  • Basic understanding of calibration with an ability to deal with moderately complex processes and procedures
  • Must be able to demonstrate judgment and initiative in problem resolution
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision
  • Good communication skills and detail oriented
