A Production Worker performs bench or line-assembly operations to produce refurbished coin-operated washer and dryer parts and related subassemblies. The Production Worker works at different work stations according to production needs.

Responsibilities:
  • Move washers and dryers on and off an assembly line.
  • Place parts in bins to be refurbish by various sub-component repair departments.
  • Perform a variety of tasks on different models of the same item.
  • Maintain an excellent Workers’ Comp safety record.
  • Promote teamwork and cooperation.

Requirements:
  • A high school diploma or GED is desirable.
  • 1 year of related experience and/or training is a plus.
  • Able to read and comprehend simple instructions and documents such as safety rules, memos, operating
and maintenance instructions, and policy and procedure manuals.
  • Possess knowledge of hand tools, such as wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, drill motors, and metal snip.
  • Able to use an air-driven drill, an air-driven screw gun, and a rivet gun.
  • Able to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis and occasionally move 200 pounds or more with a dolly/hand truck.

Role Summary
As a member of a cross-functional team, performs semi-skilled production machine operations to assemble/fabricate a product or sub-assembly in accordance with team goals. May perform work manually and/or by machine operation which requires in-depth knowledge of process and constant monitoring. Ensures product and process quality and efficiency through appropriate inspection and continuous improvement problem solving activities. Makes machine adjustments and typically manages several variables within the process. Maintains procedures and standards to provide compliance with quality standards for assigned area. Efficiently performs basic preventative maintenance and moderately complex machine setups. Maintains material movement systems and completes proper paperwork and documentation to guide operations of the team. Participates in annual planning process, understanding plant objectives and identifying improvements to help attain goals. Performs other duties as necessary in support of team objectives. Demonstrated ability to operate within production and quality standards; including being able to operate/utilize all job-related equipment. Equipment may include fork-lift, hand tools, production machinery, et cetera.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds

  • Shipping and receiving

  • Inspect/Test returned product to identify defects
  • Restock units based on classification
  • Use the various online portals (Arena, ZAGG Quality App) to document inspection results and validate the information
  • Unpack/Repack
  • Verify packaging and labeling accuracy
  • Repackage processed returns per required specifications
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Must be able to perform in a team environment, easily adapt to change, possess a high level of organization and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Complex problem solving, judgment, critical thinking and decision-making abilities
  • 1-2 years of experience in production inspection
  • Ability to work in a stand position for long periods of time
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and excellent verbal communication skills
  • Basic computer skills: Microsoft Excel/Data entry experience preferred
  • Basic knowledge of Apple/Android products preferred.
  • Working knowledge of the metric system and the ability to take critical measurements
  • Ability to read, write, and verbally communicate effectively and professionally with other business departments, guests, and vendors. Ability to diplomatically deal with difficult situations and people, while exhibiting a consistent level of professionalism.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for 2-4 hours at a time, type, reach, manipulate computer and phone systems, talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to manipulate, handle or feel objects and telephone.
  • Employees might be required to lift up to 50lbs.
